Welcome to The Vineyard Church of East Central Illinois!

Caring For The Environment

EarthWorks is The Vineyard Church’s answer for Christians who care about the environment; it's a group where we can learn together how to care for creation in practical ways. EarthWorks has formed 5 sub-committees and helped recycle monitors after the Tune In sermon series in 2007. The group aims at empowering our church community to make wise, and often simple, decisions that have a positive impact in central Illinois and the world. To accomplish this, EarthWorks has the following major emphases:

Education
Educating the Vineyard community about a Biblical understanding of our role in creation, and how to adopt greener habits in simple, impactful ways. Annually we have an Eco-Expo to present ways to the congregation to improve the environment.

Community Connection
Encouraging the Vineyard community to get outdoors, and finding ways to support environmental efforts in our local communities.

Vineyard Recycling
Assisting our church to recycle and generally be greener in a variety of ways

Projects
Exploring specific efforts to promote greener living, such as selling reusable shopping bags.

Public Policy
Impacting the world on a larger scale. Current ideas include providing clean water for colonias in Mexico and air purification for a future ministry in China.
