DivorceCare 4 Kids
Divorce greatly affects children. It can be one of the most stressful and disruptive events they experience. These children need caring adults to listen to and support them while they begin the healing process.
How DC4K Works
DC4K is a Bible-centered support group, which helps children process through their parents' separation or divorce. The support group focuses on the emotional needs of the child.
Children will...
- be encouraged to talk about their feelings; listen while others do the same.
- learn to give and receive emotional support.
- gain perspective on divorce-related issues.
- adjust to change.
- learn new behavioral skills.
The curriculum combines games, crafts, activities, music, and videos to create a fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted.
The program is designed to provide additional support for children (ages 5-12) dealing with separation or divorce. Parents are encouraged to be involved with what their children are doing as they go through DC4K.
DC4K is not a substitute for professional counseling.
