Leadership
steps for becoming a Vineyard leaderFunctional Leadership
Jesus said, "Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else.: We believe that Jesus wants leaders who are willing to work and serve, not necessarily who simply want a title or to hold a position. Consequently, in the Vineyard, we watch for men and women who are willing to get involved, roll up their sleeves, and invest their time and energy in serving. Those are the ones that we bless as the leaders among us. This is called functional leadership.
Not everyone is called to pastor but God intends for each of us to partner with him and to have an expanding impact on the lives around us. 1 John 2:12-14 and other Bible passages describe the journey of growing from immaturity to maturity to leadership.
